Special infrastructure for electric car distribution
cotedo organises equipment configuration for all German BMW i dealers
According to their size, BMW dealerships must (at varying times) provide different elements to support the distribution of BMW i: charging solutions, outdoor communication, interior equipment… In order to safeguard this complicated rollout, BMW Germany asked cotedo to take over the process design, the realisation and the reporting. After exactly one year, the assignment is now completed – the implementation is going like clockwork.
“In theory it might all sound very fine, while in practice the basic facts were missing: which dealership has already got which equipment? Who is still standing at square one? Does anyone need any special support? Surveying the actual conditions was the basis of our engagement”, explains Andreas Lemke, project management expert at cotedo. “We then based our stringent project management on these facts, and continuously reported the degree of fulfilment to BMW.”
During all of 2018, cotedo acted as the central point of contact for BMW, the dealers and all associated service providers alike. After 3,000 queries, technical questions, offers, orders, schedules and 11,500 milestones, cotedo has now handed over the well-ordered rollout of the BMW i infrastructure to BMW Germany. The realisation process is still ongoing and on schedule – until the end of 2019, all dealerships in Germany should be well prepared for putting the BMW i distribution concept into practice.
