More and more car dealerships provide charging facilities for electric vehicles. However, their implementation requires expert knowledge – simply connecting a charging point will not do. In our guest article in the German journal AUTOHAUS 17/2018, cotedo e-mobility expert Andreas Lemke outlines what points dealerships and workshops should bear in mind.

When a car dealership configures its own charging infrastructure, a layman will very quickly reach his limits. Andreas Lemke explains: “To avoid sky-high electricity costs, a preliminary energy monitoring is essential. Additionally, there is a number of ways to intelligently manage the power consumption, to keep the costs down. Choosing the right hardware and software from a huge range of products and suppliers requires specific know-how, as does the positioning of the charging points in the different areas of the dealership.”

Car dealerships should seek advice: professional strategies facilitate the implementation. Consideration of all facts makes for a safe investment – and for delighted customers!
