The way in which customers will experience a BMW or MINI dealership in the future will change fundamentally. However, the switch to the new Retail.Next showroom concept is not just about new furniture. The new customer journey will also change fundamental processes for dealers. Because we are truly familiar with car dealership processes, and because architecture and rollout management are among our key strenghts, BMW Germany commissioned us to support the rollout of Retail.Next.
The rollout of a new showroom concept involves numerous dealers, plus architects, consulting firms and many other planning participants. To ensure that all BMW Group requirements are met and that each dealership is optimally supported within the specified time frame, all processes must be seamlessly harmonised. This requires not only technical know-how and dealership expertise, but also structured project management and quality assurance.
All 130 dealerships that participated right from the start are to receive their first planning status within just ten months. cotedo has set up its own architecture department and is providing support with architectural and planning expertise. We are coordinating several architectural firms, checking their drawings and ensuring that each dealership is fully informed. Our expert Yun Ye, who has been supporting the Retail.Next concept as an architect since the development phase in 2018, is delighted:
Retail.Next creates an environment where customers feel welcome and at home. It is fascinating to now put these ideas into practice and help car dealerships to create a unique customer experience.
We have created essential foundations for this: Templates for information and planning documents and a detailed checklist for architects ensure standardisation and efficiency. We were also able to contribute to quality assurance for the BMW Group guidelines.
Our colleague Andreas Lemke has been responsible for complex projects for many years. In this rollout, he is responsible for time management, reporting and liaising with other consulting companies:
In the areas of architecture, planning and project management, we work very closely together, both internally and with our partners. Together, we ensure that the rollout is implemented efficiently. Quality assurance criteria must of course be met so that everyone involved can concentrate on their core tasks.
Our knowledge contributes to the efficient and harmonised rollout of Retail.Next. The dealers benefit from clear planning and optimised implementation of the new concept. We are pleased to know that our expertise not only ensures compliance with brand standards but also creates real added value for customers and businesses.
