Audits are a dry affair? Not with us!

10 days
of rain and storms – is that "Greece in spring"??
7 thunderstorms
over 2,000 kilometres on Greek roads
1 earthquake
per audit trip is hopefully not a new benchmark

Dennis Hartmann, the head of our team of consultants and auditors, was recently sent to Greece four times, in autumn 2024 and spring 2025, each time on behalf of a well-known vehicle manufacturer. The mission: to audit and support car dealerships. The reality: days of heavy downpours, spectacular thunderstorms and an earthquake.

It made you think of Rob McKenna from Douglas Adams' "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" – the man for whom it always rains. The only difference was that Dennis also seemed to hurl lightning bolts: a weather god-like performance!

Challenge: Audits under dramatic conditions

Audits in car dealerships require specialist knowledge, a sure instinct – and sometimes Olympic composure. Especially when you must battle the forces of nature. Although "Greece in spring" raises pleasant and sunny expectations, we were accompanied by a backdrop straight out of an ancient drama: thundering skies, pouring rain and trembling earth. In such a setting, it is not at all easy to soberly assess the appearance, equipment and processes of the businesses.

Solution: German thoroughness and Greek composure

Rolling thunder, twitching lightning, enter Dennis Hartmann! Anyone who knows him knows that he is a Zeus of the steadfast variety. He certainly wasn't fazed by the capricious weather. Equipped with several umbrellas, his tablet computer and a good dose of stoicism, he assessed the car dealerships in terms of their manufacturer conformity, process quality and optimisation potential.

Thanks to our tried-and-tested concept AUDIT & ADVICE, the dealers were also able to enjoy practical tips and recommendations for more profitable, future-proof operations. Water protection, for example, was a topic that met with great interest. 😉

Result: Clear recommendations amidst the chaos

The forces of nature were apparently less impressive for our Greek contacts than our technical precision. In the midst of the weather chaos, cotedo was once again able to provide well-founded, practical assessments of standard fulfilment, supplemented by concrete recommendations for action. Our clients and the audited companies were highly satisfied with the results. We are delighted with them!

And Greece? Had a little more water than absolutely necessary for a while. So if a region needs a solution to water shortages, it might help to fly in Dennis Hartmann.
