Charging infrastructure – perfectly planned and implemented
cotedo supports all German BMW branch outlets
Since the end of 2020, we have been working with BMW AG on the electric charging infrastructure in all German “Niederlassungen”. Our assignment is quite substantial, really: it includes safeguarding the energy supply, advising on the charging points with regard to type, number and location, and the tendering, after which we support the actual implementation and realization of all planned features.
Electric vehicles are no longer a rarity in showrooms or workshops, they must conform to the complex processes in any car dealership. A good thing that all our advisors have years of dealership experience: they know exactly which and how many charging points are needed and where they must be placed.
The first challenge is often the dealership’s energy supply. In most cases, it does not suffice for the planned infrastructure. “Bridging this gap can be a challenge. However, in most cases there is a solution. That might be installing a sensible load management system, upgrading the house connection or creating additional energy sources such as a photovoltaic facility. Buying even the best charging facilities will be pointless without enough electricity,” explains project leader Thorsten Binder.
Our activities for BMW do not end there by far. We assist our long-standing client by advising on the bidding papers, choosing suitable partners and by supervising the actual implementation including the approval of all crafts involved, and the go-live. cotedo’s director Stefan Gatt is pleased: “This assignment shows us that BMW has great confidence in our knowledge and our abilities. Once more, our comprehensive know-how about dealership configuration, equipment and processes provides the deciding additional benefit. This makes us proud.”
